Editor’s note

As you have probably read in the "From the Horse's Mouth", this May 2010 edition of SA Horseman represents the end of an era. As of the next issue in July, the magazine will have a new look and a new home. The one thing in which no compromise will be tolerated, however, is the quality of the articles we carry and this edition is no exception.

We focus on establishing digestive health in your horse, feeding the senior horse and providing supplements for the hard-working horse.
We look at research to find the best way to wean a foal. In our training section, we continue our study of bending and flexion, while we also carry a valuable article on ways to get your horse to box easily.
Finally, we look at the South African eventing team who have qualified for the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky. For the first time ever, four South African eventers qualified on their own horses in their own country. What a feat!

Enjoy the read.
