Institute of Horsemanship
THE INSTITUTE'S PROGRAMMES
The train-alone-at-home programmes offered by the Institute include:
GroundMaster Programme - The student needs to complete the following modules:
- Module 1: Leading (Teach your horse to lead)
- Module 2: Groundwork
- Module 3: Bitting-up Exercises
- Module 4: Lungeing and Long Reining
- Module 5: In-Hand Work
- Module 6: Certification but includes numerous additional study matter
SaddleMaster Programme - Still under development but includes:
- Tack (English and Western) including bits and bitless bridles
- Basic Horsemanship

- Colt Starting
- Working with abused/problem horses
- Working with novice/nervous riders
- Certification, but includes numerous additional study matter
HorseMaster Programme - Still under development but includes:
- Horse massage therapy
- Advanced groundwork
- Advanced Horsemanship...and so forth.
A student can only receive a GroundMaster Certification once all of the required modules have been successfully completed. The same criterion will apply for SaddleMaster and HorseMaster Certification.
Several of these "train-alone-at-home" modules are "stand-alone" modules but there are some modules that will require the student to first have completed a preceding module in order to achieve maximum benefit from the enrolment.
Every programme is designed in such a manner that it constitutes a comprehensive home-study module on its own and its contents, once studied and understood, can immediately be applied with good results by the student on his/her horse(s).
These courses/programmes are not discipline-specific and can be used by riders of all disciplines.
Additional programmes are still under investigation by the Institute.
