About Horse Junction
The Horse Junction web site was started by the late Ronelle de Villiers in 1999, with the help of her husband Roelof. It was Ronelle's vision to create a place where horse lovers can find information and share ideas and knowledge.
With her passing on 11 June 2006, Roelof handed over the site to Izak Hofmeyr, a freelance agricultural journalist and fellow horse fanatic.
Due to mechanisation, in-depth horse knowledge has all but disappeared in many parts of the world. It is only here and there that one finds a truly knowledgeable horseman. On the other hand the demand for sound horse knowledge is growing as more and more people want to spend their time with horses and learn more about these wonderful creatures. It is in filling this void that Horse Junction wants to play a role. To be the one-stop knowledge source for horse enthusiasts all over the world.
